Relevant Work Experience: I have 16 years of teaching experience spanning from Pre-K to high school. I also specialize as a Certified Dyslexia Specialist and have spent the last 7 years as a high school English teacher. These last seven years has really served as a maturing and growing process for me to become the ELA teacher that I am today. I have learned how to create a classroom focused on fostering a love for literature and language arts through innovative and engaging methods, creating inclusive environments that support student growth and development.

Why PC: What sets Phoenix Christian School apart is its unwavering commitment to integrating faith and learning, creating a nurturing environment where students not only excel academically but also grow spiritually. We have been so very thankful that our two daughters have experienced this first hand at PC. This holistic approach resonates deeply with my own values and beliefs as an educator. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to a community where students are encouraged to explore their faith, develop strong convictions, and become compassionate leaders in their communities.
Throughout my career as an educator, I have been driven by a profound belief in the transformative power of the Gospel and education. Teaching ELA isn’t just a job for me; it’s a calling and a ministry. I’m all about diving into the world of literature and grammar and parts of speech with my students, and discovering together how powerful language can be. But more than that, I’m all about showing them the love of Christ and investing in their stories. Each student’s journey is unique, and helping them discover who they are in Christ along with discovering their gifts and talents is what excites me and motivates me to teach.

My favorite quote is “Do small things with great love” – Mother Teresa. This has become a life mantra that I try to live by daily. LOVE CHANGES EVERYTHING! And God is love. It is the love of Jesus that will change the world and that His love is the greatest love of all, and powerful even in seemingly small moments.
