Relevant Work Experience: Elementary music teacher for 10 years, private lesson instructor for 4 years, and cellist in the Oregon East Symphony for 5 years.
Why Phoenix Christian? My journey to Phoenix Christian was unexpected, but looking back, clearly orchestrated by God. I am very happy to be a part of this wonderful Christ-centered community and enjoy sharing God’s gift of music with our students.
Growing up, my favorite teacher was my elementary music teacher, Mr. Thornburg. He would come to class with his cowboy hat and guitar. We would all sit around him and sing songs about America and Grandma’s featherbed. He created such an inviting environment; everyone felt comfortable and welcome. He is an inspiration to me as both a musician and educator.
